I absolutely love massage.  And I know that, in the right hands, it is very safe and can be quite effective.  My passion for massage has carried me into several areas of interest.

I have been a massage therapist since 1990.  I have over 1,000 hours of advanced training in several modalities, including medical massage, swedish massage, myofascial release, deep tissue massage, oncology massage, orthopedic functional assessment, lymphatic drainage, craniosacral, acupressure, shiatsu, positional release, as well isolated active stretching.  In addition, I have advanced training on specific conditions such as cancer, fibromyalgia, post traumatic stress disorder, as well as using massage to speed recovery from surgery.

I was president of the Delaware Chapter of the American Massage Therapy Association for 6 years, during which time Delaware passed some of the most comprehensive legislation in the nation.

I’m committed to evidenced based therapies, that is, therapy that works, that is proven to be effective, not just something that is just wishful thinking.  This is why many of my clients are other health care professionals such as physical therapists, chiropractors, nurses, and of course other massage therapists.

I have also trained over 1,000 people in massage, from introductory training for the general public to basic massage training for therapists to advanced training on medical massage.

I love spreading the word on how massage can successfully reduce stress.  I currently offer training seminars to the general public.  If your business or organization would like more details please contact me.

Throughout my career I have always done pro bono work such as providing free massages to low income people or cancer patients at the Helen Graham Cancer Center.  Currently my pro bono work is giving free massages at the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA Hospital) for veterans with post traumatic stress disorder.
